NaNoWriMo Time!

When you read this, I will be sleeping, dead from the exhaustion of working my final week at my job and making my BRANDSPANKINGNEWOMG website look presentable. That's right, it's midnight November first, and I'm asleep. Anyway, yeah. I am officially on hiatus from updates. Sorry I couldn't get any updates out in October; I tried, but Rondo in University wore me out. Frackin' 50 dream dates... at least Aspen is causing less problems, but the new arrival is trying to kill me. More on that in December. There is always the hope that I finish early, right? I might, I might not. Things are really up in the air, especially now that I'm back on the lookout for work. I'll stop rambling now. See you next month!

Special Notice: NaNoWriMo

I guess I should let you know, though you may or may not have figured it out from the countdown timer: I am doing NaNoWriMo X! Very excited, cause it's number ten for them, and number one for me! And I plan to modify the story into a sim story at some future unspecified date. Of course, for now I have already have three other projects going, two of which will be blogged, so don't look for it anytime soon. But I will put my somewhat finished work up on December 1 to read. And you all can do the editing for me! LOL I kid, I kid.

What does that mean for Spirit, Allen, Sephia, Sedona and Sorento? No updates for the month of November. Sorry, but there's no way I'll be able to blog them AND write 50,000 words in a month. And I'm unsure about how many I'll get to do for October. I usually do two, but if I'm not done all my research by October 15, you'll likely only see one. Plans are still on though for normal updates for October.

Actually, we've been needing to talk about that. It fits in with the heirs and spares talk, which we've never had. Here's the short version. As I did with your mother and aunt, one of you five will have to come back home after graduation, marry an NPC and have at least two kids to carry on the Green name and legacy. That is the heir. The other children are called spares, in case the heir does something stupid like get himself or herself killed before offspring are produced, and pleading for their life doesn't work. I do the choosing.
So, am I the heir, or a spare?

...What do you think? About the heir issue, or the love triangle that popped up? A resolution is needed and I have no clue what to do for either.

I don't know what to do. Or what to say. When dad died, it was me and mom. Amanti was too little to understand, and Allen, though he couldn't help me, did take Amanti off my hands so I could mourn properly. Now we have five children, three of whom don't understand what's going on.

Fortunately, babies don't need much care, and everyone had vacation time, so things settled down quickly. Allen, still very confused by his first son, takes solace in the fact that his second son doesn't give him superior looks.
While the aforementioned first son uses up much of his time cleaning up after everyone else, since he can't stand to wait for the maid.

Time for Rondo to become a child. Then he can move into Amanti's room and not have to hear the babies.

Awesome. I'm happy because birthday parties are much harder to handle when there are more than two birthdays in the same party.

Good morning triplets. Maybe one day, when I'm done townifying my hair, you'll grow into a hairstyle I like. Until then, to the mirror!

Unlike Amanti, who took me a little time to grasp, and Rondo, who I still don't quite get, the triplets started showing me their personality quirks immediately.
Sorento idolizes his father, follows him around, and tries to emulate him in every way he can. Except the hair, which i insist stays the way it is. I don't need more than two curly-haired brunettes in the house.
Sedona is a very laid back girl, preferring to pillow fight and play computer games than anything else.
Sephia is my little clingy stalker. Only kidding. Kinda. She won't let anyone else, and I mean anyone else, talk to him. She insists on completely dominating his time. That helped me figure out one thing about Rondo though. He's appropriately creeped out by it.
But he did manage to tear away from her and peel Sorento off his father long enough to get some quality time.

Johanna, they've barely made the limit for heavily watered down anime. They're definitely not old enough to watch The Strangerhood.
They're back there discussing the social implications of stereotypical characters, or some such over-my-head topic.
I like birds, aren't they pretty?
Okay, maybe just one's not mature enough for this show.
And I'll end this update with a picture of the girls heading off to public school. Sephia was angry that she couldn't go to school with Rondo, but now that Spirit told her that with an A+, she can earn her way in, she's ready to raise her grades as quickly as she can. She's a very determined child.

Sorry about the length. This is my longest update for this family, but yeah, triplets will do that to you. I had a lot more great pics, but that would've necessitated a two-parter, and I'm really trying not to have any of those.

I Will Remember You

I have a funny feeling that I left off somewhere more important, but I can't really remember where, so let's start here:
Okay, I will amend the statement I made in the last post. I just love close-ups of Galant, period.

Of course, as is the case with my toddlers, they learn quickly, thanks to a heaping helping of smartmilk as soon as they grow up. And Johanna had to step in for the potty training because of this:
Yes, Spirit is pregnant, again. Her last pregnancy, like Johanna's two, was really easy, marked by no morning sickness. This is the first toilet barf I have had in this house. I'm worried.

Where Allen is concerned, most days he comes home with a promotion. He's a very hard and fervent worker. And no, he's not trying to show up Spirit in any way; it's just his lifetime want.
Besides, Spirit has other things to worry about, like keeping alive. Her energy and comfort just tanked.

And now he's a fit, mean, promotion-earning machine.

Of course, with his swift rise to the top, he doesn't get to spend as much time with his wife as either would like.

However, he will bend over backwards (and risk breaking his back) to spend time with Amanti. His friendly, but focused son is just about everything a parent could want.
Galant, who was well into his elder years, decided to give his first grandson something to remember him by. So Amanti's first word was "Gappa!"

As Allen's busy schedule of working days and skilling nights got even more frenetic, he only got to see Amanti for quick moments between the two. Most of the time it was in the morning as his son was slipping off the potty. But Amanti was happy for any time he got to spend with Daddy.
Spirit also wasn't going to complain when they both found themselves awake and in the same room, even if his attention was more on the baby than on her. It was something.
And at least Amanti lost no love, with his grandparents quickly picking up the slack when his parents were unavailable.
To Spirit's credit, though, that wasn't often, even in the middle of an unusually difficult pregnancy.

Allen celebrated every step he took toward his goal of becoming a distinguished general. After all, his lifetime dream was coming within reach and he was amazingly close. He wasn't even 40 yet.

One bright sunny day Aspire came to visit.
I'm happy to see you little sprite.
Daddy, I'm not that little anymore.
Nonsense, you'll always be my little sprite.
Fine, Daddy.
The hours passed and their light-hearted discussion turned to Amanti. He was growing up so fast, and it wouldn't be long before he would be able to attend school. At that point, Galant asked if he'd be getting any grandchildren from her, and she insisted they drop the subject.
They were so engrossed in their conversation and Amanti was so fascinated by the pink rabbit that talked to him when he pulled its ear that no one noticed the shadowy figure gliding silently across the room.

The most oblivious to the impending death in the household was Johanna, who was ready to announce the news of their becoming a first family, as she was elected mayor of Legacy Isle!

Galant, now seeing the grim specter in front of him, sighed heavily. He knew that it was time for him to leave them all, but he would have liked to stay just a little longer.
Well, looks like my luck's run out. Time for me to go, sprites.
Spirit immediately caught the implication and burst into tears, while Aspire didn't react, staring straight ahead and using her sunglasses as a shield to her emotions.
Galant perked up when he saw the drink being offered to him. He tried to tell Spirit to look up and see the cool cup, but he found that he had no voice.
All the while, Johanna was wondering who the hooded figure she could see in the window was.
Galant and his crazy friends. It's not Halloween.
Actually, you might want to get inside quickly, Johanna. There's something happening you really don't want to miss.
Galant didn't understand how or why, but there was a suitcase. He thought you didn't take anything with you when you left this world, but maybe he was mistaken. He wished he could get his girls' attention, to tell them not to cry, that he loved them, and to tell their mother that he loved her too, but his figure was now translucent. He was already disconnected from the world, and only a fading shadow remained.

Spirit!
*sniffle* Everyone's in the living room. You might want to join them.
Is he already gone?

By the time Johanna joined her daughters in the living room, she was just in time to see a vaguely colored outline of her husband, suitcase and drink in hand, fading into the afterlife.

Galant Green died at 77 days old, top of influence. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Johanna Morris Green (63), his daughters, Spirit (34) and Aspire (23) Green, his son-in-law, Allen Bowen Green (34), and his grandson, Amanti Green (3).

Johanna was a little more prepared than the girls, because she'd been expecting this to happen soon. She and Galant had talked about what would happen when he died, frequently once she joined him in elderhood. Before, he would say that he was 14 years older than her, and she'd just shrug and pull him in for some romantic interaction. When he became an elder, though, the age difference between them became glaringly obvious. To that end, Galant had taken out a life insurance policy and put everyone he counted a friend on it.
All the girls could think of was one thing: this was the worst day of their lives.
Aspire soon left, unable to take being in the house. Johanna pulled her older daughter into a fierce hug.
You have to stay strong. You are the one that has to hold the family together.
Not only for Amanti, but for the little one we'll be meeting soon.
I know Mom, but it's hard. We were always Daddy's little girls, and now there's no more Daddy.
We'll pull through honey. We have to, for his sake.
This one's sake, too.

They say it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. So keep in mind, you have a lot of memories that he will live on through.

Maybe it was too fresh in their minds for them to find comfort in. Or maybe it was a consequence of the media attention they received, since Galant had served for many years as the head of the police force. But it proved, at least for the moment, to be too much for the women to handle.
So to cope, Johanna left reality behind for video games,
while Spirit buried her sorrows in food.
This left the bulk of the childcare to Allen,
who was already juggling work and study for the next promotion. He wanted to do more to help Spirit, but she wouldn't even talk to anyone, not even Amanti.
She made sure he was dressed and fed and clean,
but other than that he was largely ignored.

But time waits for no one. It didn't stop while Johanna and Spirit mourned, and soon, it was time for Amanti's sixth birthday and the start of school.

Spirit takes as good care of Rondo as a baby as she did Amanti.
While the younger brother is stuck in diapers, the older one is going to school. He is seriously the only kid I've ever had that actually enjoys school. As in, his fun bar goes up. Freaky.
Of course, he would be behind the rest of the class if he didn't learn how to do his homework correctly. His mother stepped in to take care of that. She was a top student herself.
And as it's always been, Amanti manages to get a quick hug before Allen heads off to the obstacle course.

While the Strangerhood is a funny series, I don't know if you should be watching it, Amanti. Some of the humor is teen and up.
My parents suggested that I watch television to improve my social skills. I was not the one who chose this program.

I don't get Amanti at all. He's like that quiet kid at the back of the class, the super-smart, but slightly anti-social one that you're almost afraid to make mad, because he seems like the axe murdering type. Well, that's what I was labeled: "Most Likely to Become an Axe Murderer." Maybe that's why I like him. Yet, he doesn't get along with Allen, who he's most similar to in personality. He gets along peachy with Johanna and Spirit. And then there's that girl. Kate had him playing Mary Mack within an hour. She has some weird freaky voodoo powers over him. I like her. :)

I should warn you about here that I decided to install GunMod's Radiance Lighting. So yeah, BIG difference in pics from here on. And I guess it inspired the storyteller in me. So there is a difference in the blog.

Allen likes spending time with Amanti, whether it's changing his diaper,
or feeding him.

He also makes sure to spend time with his wife.
He keeps the flames between them hot.
Very hot.

Spirit does manage to get some time in with her son.
And she certainly doesn't mind her husband's attentions.

During this time, Johanna managed to get those last logic points needed for her last promotion,
and talked with Galant regarding their recent financial influx.

And amid the flurry of cheating at chess and running obstacle courses, it came time for Amanti's second birthday. I know I'm excited. It's time to see whether Allen's nose is inherited.

That is correct. Even Remington stayed long enough for the celebration. I guess he likes parties.

Is it wrong to say that Amanti looks kinda... challenged? Hope he grows out of it.

However, when the sleepy toddler was put down for the night, I did notice this. I think the Green girls have a soft spot for toddlers, no matter how much they try to deny it.

And while Aspire was experiencing a seeming complete contradiction of her aspiration, her sister and brother-in-law were discussing already what school they were sending him to once he gets old enough.

As with any toddler, Amanti has a totally different rhythm than the rest of the house.
Except maybe Galant, who sleeps about as much as his grandson. Did I mention that I just love close-ups of Galant with children?

I'm sure gonna miss that, especially seeing that he's bound to leave me next week. That's probably the main reason I've been putting off this entry; then I can put his death off. Oh well, I don't have a cow plant and I'm doing the one-way street handicap, which means I gotta suck it up. And it looks like one of my fears may come to fruition, despite my efforts. Wouldn't you like to know what that is? You'll just have to wait and see!
